Zusammenfassung: Get the Intel cpu replacement insurance. Then go nuts with this thing without the worry of having to buy another CPU. It will handle 1.52 volts if you keep temps low. Been folding at 5 ghz 1.52v for 6 months now without skipping a beat. Quit reading and just buy it already!
Pro: This CPU is amazing. OCed to 5ghz with a hyper 212+ and never gets above 73C at full load. This thing will blow your mind with its speed. If you don't OC it the stock cooler works perfectly fine with it. Even a mild OC and it will do fine with the stock cooler.
Kontra: The thermal paste that comes on the stock cooler is decent but I recommend you get a good paste like MX2 or artic silver. It will make your temps good and low. Also the pins on the stock cooler kind of suck bad as they can pop up and look secured and give you high temps on the CPU. BE CAREFUL whe...
Pro: -Fast. Fast fast fast fast ffffast. -There has been nothing this baby can't handle. Run contemporary games at max settings, multitasked many high usage applications, everything you can think of... -Quiet
Zusammenfassung: Went with an i5-2400 for an HTPC build. A wonderful CPU that at stock settings nearly outperforms my formerly-powerhouse i7 930. I'd be willing to bet it'd even be a great gaming cpu when paired with a decent graphics card, but the integrated graphics capability makes this a great choice for HTPCs...
Zusammenfassung: Bottom line, I would recommend this CPU to anyone for gaming, if you're looking for a good CPU for video editing and such, I would go with the i7 series if you can afford it, due to it's multi-threading technology.
Pro: Everything you could possibly think of with this CPU. Everything I've thrown at it goes by with a breeze. I didn't use the stock cooler, which I'm sure would work just fine if you're not planning to overclock, or if you're on a budget and simply cannot afford a aftermarket cooler. I use mine for ...
Kontra: I've had no trouble at all with this processor!
Zusammenfassung: I can run this cpu at 4.6 GHz, however, a stress test causes a bsod a few hours later. At 4.8 GHz, it went for about half an hour before a crash Then I decided to kick it up a notch. 5 GHz!
Pro: -overclocked to 4.5 GHz (36% increase from stock!), running stable for about 1.5 years at that speed -overclocking is SUPER easy! Just press the plus key a few times on the cpu multiplier and there you go, overclocked and stable! (as long as you aren't using the stock cooler) -intel is under rati...
Kontra: -I was unable to squeeze a fully stable 4.6 GHz out of this to 1-up my friend who can only get 4.5 GHz on his.
Zusammenfassung: This CPU is awesome for a dedicated gaming rig and I couldnt be happier. 3570k has slightly less power consumption and HD4000 graphics and support for PCIe 3.0, but the wattage difference between the two arent that much and who uses integrated graphics these days?
Pro: Easy overclock and loves aftermarket coolers. I have mine overclocked to 4.2 with a budget non direct heatpipe cooler bought from Goodwill in Japan and under full load maximum heat this thing doesnt get over 65C. I cant believe how well this CPU overclocks.
Kontra: I didnt get mine from Newegg so i didnt get the free Intel shirt....bummer.
